Mr. Andrew Pringle, CM Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alex Filiatrault as Chief Executive Officer of CANFAR effective Monday, June 25 th.

Mr. Filiatrault is a long-standing supporter of CANFAR, and in 2016 was presented with CANFAR’s Volunteer of the Year Award. Widely recognized across the country for his creativity and leadership, Mr. Filiatrault has had a distinguished career in the luxury hotel industry. Mr. Pringle observed that “Alex brings a unique combination of skills to CANFAR, both as an established brand ambassador and an astute business development expert.”

Mr. Filiatrault stated “I’m looking forward to leading the team at CANFAR, and getting better acquainted with our donors, volunteers and supporters. HIV is a critical issue in Canada, and CANFAR continues to be a trailblazer in terms of eradicating the disease. I am excited about contributing to the outstanding work done by this important organization.”

Mr. Filiatrault succeeds Kyle Winters who is stepping down as President of CANFAR after three years with the foundation.
