BSE27 raises $1.5 million for CANFAR’s mission to end HIV in Canada

Bloor Street Entertains’ 27th edition was a record-breaking event on Thursday, November 30, 2023. Whether a patron dining at one of the 23 fabulous dinners, one of over 150 partners who came together to make #BSE27 happen, or an After Party reveller, our events team and staff – thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping us raise a record-breaking $1.5 million for our mission to end the HIV epidemic in Canada.

With more gourmet, more glamour, and more glitz, BSE27 was an incredible success, with our community showing up to raise critical funds to support our national HIV awareness programs, strategic implementation projects, and innovative research grants.

Over 150 partners put on a fabulous evening of pop-up dinners and experiences across Bloor-Yorkville. First up, 23 dinners across 22 venues, hosted just over 1,000 guests simultaneously dining on 3,000 courses throughout the evening. Then, over 1,000 guests explored the Aria Ballroom in the Four Seasons Hotel Toronto for the Official BSE27 After Party.

Grammy-award winning recording artist Mya gave a soulful performance of a medley of her hits, from Lady Marmalade to Case of the Ex. Toronto-based musician Sean Jones got the party started, and DJ Barbi kept it going all night long.

To put on an event like BSE27, “It doesn’t take a village, it takes a metropolis,” says Alex Filiatrault, CANFAR’s CEO, says.
