BIOGRAPHY

Muluba has been living with HIV for her entire life. Raised by her parents – both HIV positive – to believe the virus was a shameful secret and grew up in stigmatizing conditions. Today, Muluba pulls from her lived experience, advocating for equity, intersectional research and people sharing their own stories, free from stigma.

As program lead of the Equity & Strategic Partnerships project for the Ontario HIV Treatment Network and a community advisor for CIHR Canadian HIV Trials Network, Muluba is an activist in her personal and professional life. She has spoken on behalf of CANFAR in countless campaigns, at rallies, in schools, on several TV networks and with dozens of journalists. It is because of her dedication to CANFAR’s messaging, and our shared mission to eradicate the stigma surrounding HIV in Canada, that CANFAR made her their first National Ambassador, and now their National Spokesperson.

Muluba discusses disclosure laws for people with HIV and the importance of discussing HIV all year, not just on World AIDS Day. Interview with CityNews Toronto.
