BIOGRAPHY
Jade is a performer and recording artist turned activist who has dedicated her time, her voice and her music to HIV/AIDS activism. The first Drag artist ever, to perform at the 519 AIDS Memorial in 2019. Then, a rewrite of the popular song “Unforgettable” by Nat King to “Undetectable” went viral, gaining Jade global recognition and the opportunity to perform in Washington DC at the U.S. AIDS Conference that same year. Creator of POX Magazine, and POZ TO Events -now known as MINGLE events- Jade’s HIV AIDS activism has taken many forms, in a multitude of mediums.
Jade has performed and spoken on behalf of those living with HIV at every offered opportunity. She believes that proper education is the answer to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Canada. “…we need the information about U=U, PrEP and sexual awareness- as in talking with your partners openly about what you want and what you are willing to do sexually. Making sex and sexuality a normal conversation will change perceptions about who we are.” Whether it’s a dazzling performance or star-studded event of her own, or through promoting other queer events and performances in POZ Magazine, Jade is using every piece of who she is to stand up and fight for the end of HIV in Canada.
