BIOGRAPHY

Randy Davis is CANFAR’s newest ambassador. He is a self-proclaimed ‘accidental activist.’

Diagnosed HIV positive in February of 2015, after being hospitalized for ‘flu-like symptoms’, it was Randy’s initial reaction to his diagnosis that led him to this life of activism he lives today.I was in such a dark place and thought no one would ever love me again….I looked at the pictures of my parents, brothers, and children hanging on the wall and a light went off in my head at that moment, and I told myself I had way too much to live for in this world. The idea of not being around to watch my daughters grow up and accomplish whatever they wanted to. I knew I didn’t want to miss any of it.’

As coordinator at Gilbert Centre for Social and Support Services/InclusHIV Care Clinic and an Ontario AIDS Network(OAN) board member, Randy is making a difference in the fight against HIV in Canada, every day. As the host and producer of “Let’s Be Perfectly Queer” a monthly segment on Rogers TV Barrie celebrates inclusion, equality, love and support in the LGBTQ+ community. Randy educates on topics such as health and wellness, family challenges, relationships, the reality of life, sexual identity, and so much more. As a brand ambassador for ViiV Healthcare and now the newest ambassador for CANFAR, it’s Randy’s mission to be a part of the end of HIV in Canada.
