Dr. Stanley Read

MD, PhD, FRCPC

Dr. Stanley Read serves as the Chair of CANFAR’s Scientific Advisory Committee. He served for many years as a Pediatric Infectious Diseases specialist at the Hospital for Sick Children, and has served as the Director of the Family Centered HIV/AIDS Program at the hospital since it was first established in 1988. He is a Consultant in Child and Adolescent Health to the Ministry of Health in the Bahamas, as well as, the Director of Clinical Research and Laboratory Services. At the University of Toronto, he is a professor of Pediatrics and Pathobiology. Many of his other positions have been with Canadian HIV/AIDS advisory committees. His research focuses on the diagnosis and management of maternal-to-child transmission of HIV.
