CANFAR Re-Launches Legacy 2.0 Chapter in Ottawa

CANFAR expands its social network to go further in raising awareness and preventing HIV in Canada among at-risk youth ages 15-29.
OTTAWA, ON – On December 1st, 2021, World AIDS Day, CANFAR re-launched its Ottawa Chapter of the Legacy 2.0 Group.
Canada’s IN Magazine spotlights CANFAR’s expanding efforts to grow support of national initiatives aimed at raising awareness and preventing HIV among at-risk youth in Canada.
Presented and sponsored by ViiV Healthcare Canada, CANFAR’s Legacy 2.0 Group exists as a social network for encouraging and supporting community, information, initiatives, and fundraising to foster awareness and prevention of HIV for at-risk youth ages 15 to 29.
CANFAR’s Legacy 2.0 members make up a national network of diverse professionals passionate about creating a legacy of an AIDS-free generation, and ending HIV in Canada for all.
The re-launching of CANFAR’s Ottawa Chapter of Legacy 2.0 is part of a strategic effort to maximize funding for research, education and social programs dedicated to youth HIV prevention and awareness.
Currently, CANFAR’s Legacy 2.0 Chapters support CANFAR’s newest, comprehensive youth HIV resource, Sexfluent.ca.
These chapters play an important role,” says David Tremblay, Co-Chair of Legacy 2.0 – Toronto Chapter. “It’s crucial for the Legacy 2.0 network – as well as the new Ottawa chapter – to share CANFAR’s mission and news across the country, and raise awareness of the Sexfluent platform.”
Daniel Reyes Cocka, Co-Chair of the Ottawa Chapter of Legacy 2.0, adds,
This is something that has been incredibly important to me. Alongside my husband, I am so proud to be a part of such an amazing team in Canadian cities as we bring chapters to life from coast to coast.”
