Have a Heart is CANFAR's national awareness and fundraising program where Canada's youth become active in educating their peers about HIV/AIDS. It is the only program in Canada of its kind.
Since the start of the Have a Heart program in 1993, millions of students across Canada have raised awareness about HIV/AIDS and have generated funds for youth-specific research through CANFAR.
Every year around Valentine's Day, students in schools across Canada take part in Have a Heart by selling “Heart O' Grams” to their peers. CANFAR will supply your school with all of the HIV/AIDS materials to create "Heart O' Grams" at no cost!
CANFAR recognizes that no one educational institution or facility in Canada is alike. For this reason the Have a Heart program is easily adapted to the particular needs of students and administrators from all schools. Have a Heart provides schools the option to request only those materials suitable for their student body.
Have a Heart is also a unique program because it enables students from the Ontario College of Art and Design to submit their work to CANFAR. Three winners are chosen each year and their designs are incorporated into the Have a Heart materials.

The Facts:
- Half of Grade 9 students in Canada WRONGLY believe there is a cure for AIDS.
- More than 10 million young people between 15 and 24 are infected with HIV.
- 2 million children under age 15 are living with HIV.
